Crocs and Marc Jacobs are already running TikTok mini dramas. Waiting for more proof just means waiting to be one of the last in.

Crocs turned a pair of shoes into a comedy series with shoppable product tags. Marc Jacobs turned a handbag into a scripted drama with an actress in the lead role. Both moved before there was a standard playbook for the format.

Maybelline, Marc Jacobs, Crocs and P&G have already launched their micro-drama.

What's already out there

Crocs and Marc Jacobs went first. Here's what that looked like.

In June 2026, Crocs and SuperOrdinary Studios released Déjà Shoe, a seven episode comedy built around the brand's shoes, with TikTok Shop products tagged directly inside the episodes so people could buy without leaving the story. It's presented as the first US footwear brand to build TikTok Shop into a mini drama this way. The superlative matters less than what it shows: a well known footwear brand ran this in public, tags live, product for sale mid scene, not tucked away as a quiet internal test.

Marc Jacobs took a different route with The Scene, a scripted, TikTok-first drama starring actress Rachel Sennott, written around the Scene Bag from its Pre-Fall 2026 collection. A luxury house built a narrative series around a handbag launch instead of a standard product shoot. A comedy footwear brand and a scripted luxury drama, doing the same kind of thing on the same platform, is hard to write off as a fluke. The open question now is who else is still sitting this out.

FAQ

What brands ask us.

Who's actually making TikTok mini dramas right now?

Crocs is one example. In June 2026 it released Déjà Shoe with SuperOrdinary Studios, a seven episode comedy with TikTok Shop products tagged inside the episodes, presented as the first US footwear brand to build TikTok Shop into a mini drama this way. Marc Jacobs is another. Its series The Scene is a scripted, TikTok-first drama starring Rachel Sennott, built around the Scene Bag from the Pre-Fall 2026 collection. A comfort footwear brand and a luxury fashion house, both making narrative video for the same platform.

Do I need to be a huge brand to try this?

No. The two brands already doing it sit at opposite ends of the market, a mass footwear label and a luxury house, so size and category aren't the gate. What both examples share is a clear product to build a story around and a team that could actually write, cast, shoot and edit it. That second part is usually where teams get stuck.

How do I get a mini drama made without building a production team from scratch?

That's what microdrama.studio does. We write, cast, shoot and edit branded mini drama series so your team doesn't have to hire a script writer, a casting director and an editor just to test the format. You focus on the product and the brand. We handle the production.
